IMVL's first ever GIVEAWAY!

Update: Amberle, you're the winner!  Please send me an email with your address to inmyveganlife at gmail d ot com.

Friends, I made a big batch of grape jelly for the first time, from grapes I picked from my own yard.  I used mostly green grapes along with several bunches of deep purple grapes, which yielded this fantastic pink color.  See the original post here.

Up for grabs is a little jar of this delicious pink stuff.   I'm not going to lie.  There's a lot of sugar, but that's jelly for you.  Three simple ingredients: organic grapes, organic cane sugar, and pectin.  There was a lot of pulp straining involved, but it was worth it!

Grape jelly for you?

What will you do with this jar of jelly (besides the obvious pb&j sandwiches)?  Well, that's up to you.  So far, I've enjoyed it best, slathered on a homemade biscuit with Earth Balance, as pictured below.

To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment below.  You earn extra appreciation points if you tell me what you intend to use the jelly for.  I'm looking for grape-y inspiration!  This giveaway is open to EVERYONE everywhere, but there is only one jar up for grabs.  I'm saving the rest as holiday gifts for friends and fam.  A random winner will be chosen at 10:00 a.m. PST on Tuesday, November 1.

  2. That jelly looks amazing! This year I really wanted to attempt to make my mother's holiday recipe for thumbprint cookies. I think this jam would work perfect for the center!

  3. That looks so delicious! I would put it on pancakes or waffles! (Crepes would be best but I've had no luck making vegan crepe recipes...)

  5. ooooh, it's so beautiful! Grape Jelly is Mr. Vegan Eats & Treats #1 favorite jam, so I would probably make my sweetheart a toasted PB&J!! Then, of course, I would make myself one too! :)

  6. Pretty, pretty! I am too scared to make my own grape jelly. I've made all other sorts of jams and sauces, but jelly makes me shake in fear. I would probably make a grape jelly filled vegan croissant with the prize!

  8. Ooooo the best part is it's BEAUTIFUL pink color : ) I'm drooling just thinking about it now. I would probably use it either on homemade biscuits like yourself because that sounds like simple perfection or baked into the middle of cornbread muffins and then mixed into some type of frosting to go on top as well! YUM

  10. Aw, yum! I would go for the classic jam and cream on bread or scones. When I was little, my grandma was always making raspberry, strawberry, fig or apricot jam and jam and cream used to be my special treat. Love it!

  11. Yum that looks delicious, I love jam! I'd definitely spread some on a scone but I'd also use some to make jam thumbprint cookies.

  12. I would use that grape jelly on top of my new vegan icecream, BUT first is a spoonful of that goodness in my mouth!

  13. I would be very boring with this jelly and eat it on toast with EB. But I would be very happy!

  14. I make homemade poptarts for the husband for breakfast, and I think this would make a great filling! I planted grapes this year, but only two of six survived, and didn't get established enough to fruit. Maybe next year I'll get enough for a single jar of jelly!

  16. I'd probably eat most of it on toast, but it would also be amazing to make peanut butter cupcakes and fill them with this jelly!

  17. That jelly is definitely going on homemade biscuits if I win. And probably on some toast with Almond butter, too. But the first order of business is biscuits, earth balance, and that lovely grape jelly.
