Foster Puppy!

We have a new house guest! Cares4Pets took in a 6-month-old puppy and we've been chosen as the foster family for the little guy. We named him Marty. Andy and Marty are having a lot of fun together. DocDufresne and I are not used to having a puppy around. He's even more energetic than Andy and not as good of a listener, but we're going to work on that!

This picture has me cracking up! LOLdogs, anyone?

The Wissahickon Trail Classic

On Saturday, June 6th, I took (hundreds of) photographs of the Wissahickon Trail Classic, an annual fund-raising event for the Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers. This year, more than 500 runners participated in the race, raising funds for continued natural restoration work in the Wissahickon Valley Park. Hardcore trail runners were pleased to see that the wet weather from the previous day provided excellent muddy conditions. Here are a few of the photographs.

And congrats to DocDufresne who finished the 10K run in1 hour, 9 minutes, and 23 seconds, placing #343!

Like I needed more proof of my obsession

I realize this post has limited appeal to most people, but here it is anyway- a whole slew of Andy Dufresne photos taken during our trip to Farm Sanctuary. I get a real kick out of the first one. It reminds me of those "Olde Tyme" photos that you can have taken at tourist-y places.

Smelling like Farm Sanctuary

We just returned from a family visit (yes, that's Andy, DocDufresne, and myself) to Farm Sanctuary's Watkins Glen shelter. Wow! What a trip! Not only is Watkins Glen, NY a gloriously beautiful and serene locale, the sanctuary itself is something to behold. The animals and property are very well-maintained and it was a breath of fresh air to be in the midst of people who care so deeply for the well-being of the 700+ animals that call the sanctuary home. Andy enjoyed playing frisbee on the lawn behind the "People Barn" and chomping on the water coming from the hose at Rainbow Bridge memorial garden. DocDufresne and I loved meeting many happy animals, several of who sought attention for as long as you would allow in the form of pets and kind words (returned by nudges and intense stares). We took hundreds of photos, including many of Andy. You can find many of these below.
